Hispanic Chamber of Columbus History
The Hispanic Chamber of Columbus (HCC) has been in existence for over a decade. The HCC has evolved from an all-volunteer networking organization to an established chamber organization with a growing budget and an array of services and programs.
The HCC was the first Hispanic Chamber in Ohio to hire a fulltime Executive Director.
In 2008, the HCC entered into an agreement called Project Open a joint effort between the Ohio Department of Development and The Ohio Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs (OCHLA). The goal of the program was to build a stronger infrastructure for the HCC as well as to develop a Latino Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) to work in cooperation with the HCC to strengthen existing Hispanic businesses and to develop new businesses in the Hispanic community.
